Area Snowmobile Trail Report |
Trail maintenance has begun to prepare for the start of the season. We have received between 8-10" from this past storm, which will serve as an excellent base. Always use use caution when venturing onto any frozen body of water and check with locals for ice thickness and hazards first.
Looking for accommodations while in the area, look no further! The Birches Resort is located directly on Route 66 & The Moosehead Trail! Accommodations are available. Please call for more information!
New Update Directly From Our Grooming Coordinator The restaurant is closed until the Summer. Always call us for dinner reservations so you have a seat. Please inquire for cabin availability. Our gas pump is open daily. Gas pump hours are from 7:30AM-7:30PM daily (during peak times). Please note that Route 66 from Rockwood to Jackman is maintained by the Blue Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club. It is scheduled for grooming every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Additional grooming occurs after each fresh snowfall. The Birches Resort offers many rental snowmobiles. Click here to find out how to get to us by sled! Did you know that most of the grooming on the Moosehead trail system is done at night by volunteers. If you are riding in the region, drop some spare change in trail grooming fund raising jars at local establishments. These clubs could use the extra funds. To join our local snowmobile club to help support our efforts to have great trails, email Eugene at grayghostcamps@prexar.com. Our crews and local trail volunteer workers are out preparing all area trails diligently. Do not go on Moosehead Lake unless it is marked!
