One Bedroom Cabins

Cabin #2 "Rambling Rose"  This recently-remodeled cabin is now classified as a deluxe one bedroom cabin. The bedroom has 1Q and there is a pull out queen-sized sofa in the living room. Kitchen has a full stove and a medium refrigerator. A stereo system is soon to come. There is plenty of space with it's separate kitchen, dining room and living room. A pier outside offers a great place to sit and enjoy the lake. There is a woodstove and a heat monitor for heat. There is an outdoor fire pit.

Cabin #5 "Catch a Falling Star"  The bedroom has 1Q/1S, sleeps 3 comfortably, has a woodstove, a summer fireplace/winter woodstove and a heat monitor for heat.  Kitchen has a full stove and a large refrigerator.  Cabin is located near the beach.

Cabin #7  "Born Free"  The bedroom has 1Q/1S and has a fold out sleep sofa, sleeps 3 comfortably, has a woodstove and a heat monitor for heat.  Kitchen has a full stove and a medium refrigerator.  It is very close to the beach and snowmobile access trail to the lake.

Cabin #10 "Green Eyes"  The bedroom has 1Q and a small DB in living room, sleeps 3 comfortably, has a woodstove, a summer fireplace/winter woodstove and a heat monitor for heat, has a small refrigerator and a counter cook top. There is an outdoor fire pit.

Cabin #20 "The Honeymoon Cabin"  The bedroom has 1Q bed, sleeps 2comfortably, has a woodstove and a heat monitor for heat. It has a medium refrigerator and a counter cook top. It is the closest cabin to our marina. There is also a waterfront pier that overlooks the lake & Mount Kineo. There is an outdoor fire pit.

Two Bedroom Cabins

Cabin #3 "Indian Summer"  Bedroom one has 1D/1S and bedroom two has 1Q and can sleep 5 comfortably. It has a full stove and a large refrigerator.  It has a woodstove and a heat monitor for heat. There is an outdoor fire pit.

Cabin #4 "Days of Wine & Roses"  Bedroom one has 1Q/1S and bedroom two has 2S, can sleep 5 comfortably. It has a full stove and a large refrigerator. It has a woodstove and a heat monitor for heat. There is an outdoor fire pit.

Cabin #6 "Feeling Groovy"  Bedroom one has 1Q and a DB, the loft bedroom has 2S and a DB. It can sleep 5 comfortably. It has a full stove and a large refrigerator. It has a woodstove and a heat monitor for heat. There is an outdoor fire pit.

Cabin #8 "Never on Sunday"  Bedroom one has 1Q/2S, bedroom two has 1Q/1S and has 1DB. This is largest of our two bedroom cabins and can easily sleep 7 comfortably. It has a full stove and a large refrigerator. There is an open kitchen/dining room/living room, complete with all new appliances. It has a woodstove and a heat monitor for heat. Recent renovations include a new front French glass door. There is an outdoor fire pit.

Cabin #11 "Irish Eyes"  Bedroom one has 1D/1S and the loft bedroom has 1Q/2S. It can sleep 6 comfortably. It has a full stove and a large refrigerator. For heat, it has a woodstove and a heat monitor. It is directly in front of the beach area, and is close to trails. There is an outdoor fire pit.

Cabin #12 "Blue Heaven"  Bedroom one has 1Q/1S, the loft bedroom has 3S and there is a DB in the living area. It can sleep 5 comfortably. It has a medium refrigerator and a counter cook top. It has a woodstove and a heat monitor for heat, and a summer-only fireplace. There is an additional 1/2 bath in the loft. There is an outdoor fire pit.

Cabin #14 "In the Mood"  Bedroom one has 1Q/1S, the loft bedroom has 1D/2S and there is a DB in the living area. It can sleep 6 comfortably and has a large refrigerator and a counter cook top. There is a woodstove and a heat monitor for heat and there is an additional 1/2 bath in the loft. There is an outdoor fire pit.

Cabin #16 "September in the Rain"  Bedroom one has 1Q/1S, the loft bedroom has 3S and there is a DB in the living area. It can sleep 6 comfortably and there is an additional 1/2 bath in the loft. It has a full stove and a Small refrigerator. It has a woodstove and a heat monitor for heat.

Cabin #18 "On Top of Old Smokey"  Bedroom one has 1Q/1S, the loft bedroom has 3S and can sleep 6 comfortably. It has a medium refrigerator and a counter cook top. It has a woodstove and a heat monitor for heat.

Four Bedroom Cabin

Cabin #1 "Hello Dolly"  This newly refinished cabin can sleep up to 12 people without extra cots. It is newly painted and updated. Bedroom one has 1Q/1D, bedroom two has 1D/1S, bedroom three has 1D/1S and the loft bedroom has 1D/3S. It has a full stove, microwave and a large refrigerator. It has a woodstove, a year-round fireplace and a heat monitor for heat. There is an outdoor fire pit.

Pets

Pets are $10 per pet per night. That price applies to all lodging (cabins, homes and wilderness yurts) and is the same rate all year. Please note that some private homes allow pets on special permission only. Please call to find out more information.

Children Pricing for cabins is as follows:

Children under 4 are free of charge.  Children from ages 4-12 are 1/2 the price of extra persons. Children 13 and older are full price.  The pricing of private homes can be found directly on the individual home pages.  Please call if you have any questions regarding the pricing of children.

Key:

Q=queen, D=double, S=single, BB=bunk bed, DB=day bed (smaller than a single, meant for small children only).  Only cabins #1 and #15 have a year-round fireplace; the other cabins with fireplaces have a woodstove which should be used during cooler months.  Every cabin has its own plumbing and a shower stall (except for cabin #2 which has a bathtub as well).  All cabins include pots (no lobster pot though), pans, dishware, utensils, coffee maker & coffee packets, toaster, all bedding, quilts/comforters and towels. Dog blankets can be provided upon special request to keep dog hair off the beds.  Cabin tents at The Birches and The Penobscot Outdoor Center do not have electrical power outlets.  All of our guests are entitled to use the shower house (showers and restrooms), the hot tub and the dry sauna.  Our guests are allowed one free boat mooring at our marina for their boat, but please specify this request when making a reservation so that we can make certain that there is available docking space for you.  Please call us with further questions.
